This section is well equipped with auto-analyser to perform routine as well as specialized investigations including routine blood counts, optimal malaria test, clot screening, coagulation factor assays, thrombophilia screening, bone marrow aspiration and trephine biopsy facilities cytochemical stains and Hb and protein electrophoresis.

Microbiology
The section performs routine urine and stool examination, all biological fluid analysis, aerobic & anaerobic culture of CSF, ascitic and pleural fluid, Pus, AFB culture, fungal culture and sensitivity. In collaboration with Gynaecology and Obstetrics Department, the section has recently started sperm preparation for Intra-Uterine Insemination (IUI). Transfusion Medicine
This section comprises of Plasma Cell Separator. We have facilities to store up to 650 units of various blood products. All kinds of blood products are prepared including Platelets, Fresh Frozen Plasma (FFP), Cryoprecipitates, Granulocytes and packed BsAg, HIV, Optimal Malaria Test and VDRL to provide safe blood to the patients.
